SAMPLE TOUR PACKAGE 1: Bike tour combined with Kikuletwa hot springs

We will cycle through the village like a semi desert; admire impressive mountain views during this serene, full-day tour. On your bike, ride to the hot springs and take breaks to try seasonal local fruit when you reach Rundugai Village, visit the Maasai market and getting the history of this tribe and have a look at fresh, local products produced by Maasai people.

Ride on quiet bumping roads to the Hot Springs while escorted by Car. Here, take a dip in the crystal water to refresh your body and then having a lunch at Kikuletwa Hot springs

SAMPLE TOUR PACKAGE 2: Bike tour combined with waterfalls and coffee tour

We will ride up onto the slopes of Kilimanjaro, to the village of Materuni, approximately 1,800 m above sea level.  This lush rainforest region is known for producing some of the best coffee in East Africa.  Start the day with a visit to a small coffee farm and learn about how the coffee is grown, harvested and processed locally. Try your own hand at processing, roasting and preparing a fresh cup of coffee in the local Chagga way. Once you have finished enjoying your coffee break while getting the history of Chagga people

After Lunch we will hike to the beautiful Materuni waterfalls on Uru village where you can swim, On the way you will enjoy the view of Mount Kilimanjaro and testing a Chagga local brew, .Total distance 14km (10 uphill road)

 

SAMPLE TOUR PACKAGE 3: Bike tour combined with Canoe and Bird watching

We will start our epic bike ride in the morning and set off on our journey through Lake Chala and its fantastic cityscape views.The first section of the route will be done in daylight, the highest elevation of the route, then cycling along the highland to our first waterstop; the views will be fantastic as we cycle into campsite we’ll be taking in some incredible and iconic sights of this beautiful city en route –Himo, Holili

We will enjoy Canoe and Bird watching at the end of our trip, . Then we drive back to town

SAMPLE TOUR PACKAGE 4: Kilimanjaro Shira Plateau Day Trip

This is an ideal trip for mountain bikers looking for a challenge or any avid cyclists wishing to cycle on Mt. Kilimanjaro. Primates can be seen while cycling through the forest zone and larger game animals can be seen on the heath and moorland zone. On a clear day, you will witness breathtaking views of Kibo peak as you cycle towards the helipad.

Itinerary

At 0700hrs you will be transferred from your hotel in Moshi to the Londorossi Gate on the western side of Mt. Kilimanjaro where your tour begins. First, you will cycle through the forest zone followed by the heather and moorland zone as you head towards the helipad on the Shira Plateau.

You will then turn back and enjoy a relaxing downhill ride back to Londorossi Gate where your tour ends. You will then be picked up and transferred back to your hotel in Moshi.

Sample Package 5: Cycling Arusha National Park

Cycling Arusha National ParkDescribed by Sir Julian Huxley as “a gem amongst parks”, Arusha National Park is Tanzania’s smallest but most beautiful park in Tanzania’s northern circuit. cycling Arusha National Park

It consists of three spectacular features, the Momella Lakes, Mount Meru and the Ngurudoto Crater. Cycling in Arusha National Park is a fun and thrilling way to experience this magnificent park, often overlooked by safari goers, despite offering the opportunity to explore a captivating diversity of habitats within a few hours.

This tour lets you explore beautiful areas of the park rarely visited while on safari hence giving you the ultimate wilderness experience. Apart from the wildlife and scenery there is a wealth of history you will uncover from this tour including the history of the park and the early missionaries who used to live in this area.

In order to ensure your complete safety and comfort, you will be accompanied with an armed ranger and support vehicle(s) throughout your tour. Whenever you get tired you can just hop off your bike and onto the support vehicle. Come explore one of Tanzania’s most beautiful parks with us.

Biking Tour Itinerary

We will meet up at the Arusha National Park (Momella Gate) at 0900hrs where our tour will begin. Your bike ride starts off with a gradual ascent as you head south of the park along the main dirt road.

Along the sides of the roads, you will cycle past families of baboons and blue monkeys. After cycling for about 2km we will take a 1km detour towards the Resthouse near Margarete Trappe’s grave. Margarete Trappe also is known as the “Iron Lady” was one of the early missionaries who lived in the area and was regarded as Africa’s greatest huntress. Here you will get a brief explanation about the history of Margarete and her impact on the area before continuing with your ride.

After riding on the main road for about 5km you will turn right and enter the Kilinga Loop. This loop which spans 7.3km traverses the thick lush forest. Due to the canopy cover, the path will be muddy on some sections hence making it the most challenging but fun to ride a section of the tour.

After completing the Kilinga loop you will continue cycling gradually downhill along the main dirt road for about 3km towards the Ngongongare gate where you tour ends.
